Actually, in defense of the profession, I have to say that I would still encourage people to go into engineering. Depending on what your specialty is, there is a relatively lower unemployment rate among engineers provided you keep your experience level spread across a fairly broad range of industries, etc.

The evidence is that the shooter legally purchased the firearm. He had committed no crimes, nor had any court ordered him into mental coaching health care.
